Job Description:

WELDER, COMBINATION, MAINTENANCE

GDIT is seeking a Welder to help support the CTII and GIC program in Chesapeake, Norfolk, Newport News and Portsmouth areas in Virginia .

This is an onsite position, and no relocation assistance is provided.

Must be a US Citizen

Job Description:
  • Applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, or repair parts of metal or other materials that require welding.
  • Works from blueprints, engineering sketches, charts, or work orders.
  • Lays out and marks points on parts or subassemblies using rule, square, scribe or templates.
  • Uses measuring instruments and hand tools to positions pieces requiring welding into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps.
  • Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Participates in special projects, as required.

Requirements:
  • US Citizen
  • HS/GED
  • Technical or vocational training
  • 5+ years of experience, including Pipe welding

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $19.84 - $25.30. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
